Government hospital of thoracic medicine (GHTM), Tambaram sanatorium is a tertiary care centre for patients with lung diseases which has been functioning since its inception in 1928. It was declared as a centre of excellence for HIV care in 2007 and centre of excellence for treatment of drug resistant TB cases by the Government of India in 2022.
